Ginger Besgrove 1938 – 2015 Former Fayette resident Virginia J. “Ginger” Besgrove passed away at her home in Columbia, MO on May 21, 2015. She was 77 years of age. Mrs. Besgrove was born on April 20, 1938 in Boonville, MO, the daughter of John and Helen (Burch) Estes. She attended Whitehall School in Estill, MO and Gutheridge School west of Fayette. Her high school years were spent at Fayette High School where she graduated with the Class of 1956. On December 7, 1957, Virginia Estes was united in marriage to Marvin Besgrove. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1992. Ginger worked 35 years between Keller Memorial Hospital in Fayette and Cooper Co. Hospital in Boonville. For twenty-two of those years, she was Director of Medical Records. Ginger’s life was greatly influenced by her marriage to Marvin and the birth of their four children. She thoroughly enjoyed the coast to coast motorcycle trips with Marvin. Ginger was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the joy they brought to her life. Following the death of her husband, she found the strength for life alone and for her continuing fight against Progressive Supre Nuclear Palsy (PSP) and later breast cancer. The couple had been active members of the Fayette First Christian Church for many years. She is survived by her four children, Lisa (Dale) Lang of Fayette, Kirk (Jackie) Besgrove of Fayette, Mike (Shelley Underdown) Besgrove of Selma, NC and John (Angie) Besgrove of Owasso, OK and Fairview, TX; two brothers, John “Bud” Estes, Jr. and Larry (Serena) Estes, both of Columbia, MO; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Ginger was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Betty Estes. Services for Ginger. Besgrove will be 10 AM, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Lance Tamerius officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Monday, May 25 at the funeral home. Following the service, burial will take place at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Compassus or Parkinson’s Foundation.
