Russell Mansfield 1960 – 2016 Russell Eugene Mansfield, 56, of Perley, MN, died suddenly on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at his home. Mr. Mansfield was born January 16, 1960, in Fayette, MO to Alfred and Sheryl (Welge) Mansfield. Russell graduated from Francis Howell High School in St. Charles County, MO. Following his schooling, he moved to Fargo, ND, and began working for Don’s Car Wash. He was later employed part time by the railroad. On June 15, 1985, Russell was united in marriage to Vicky Vaineo at Cloquet, MN. They moved to Perley and Russell began a long career with American Crystal Sugar Company in Moorhead, MN. He worked in the bulk department and retired in 2015 as a supervisor in the loading department. Russell was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and has been doctoring since. Russell was an avid outdoors man. He loved to hunt, fish, scuba dive and camp. He was a devote patriot of America and defended the 2nd Amendment. Riding his Harley Davison Bad Boy was a thrill for him. He worked hard and played hard. He had a committed and devoted friend in his dog named, Thor. Above all else, Russell loved and cared for his family. He is survived by his wife, Vicky, of Perley, MN; one son, Preston (Kara Swiggum) of Moorhead, MN; two grandchildren, Serenity and Isabel Mansfield; his mother, Sheryl Mansfield of St. Louis, MO; one brother, Mike Mansfield of Troy, MO; one sister, Denise Mansfield of St. Peters, MO and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred on February 6, 2016. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 AM on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Harold Young officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
