Jon Dinter, 32, passed away at his home in Rocheport, MO on September 20, 2016, surrounded by family and loved ones. Jonathan Kane Dinter was born on February 25, 1984, in Bridgeton, MO to David Dinter and Kathryn (McNabb) Reith. Jon attended high school at Parkway West, where he was active in football and wrestling, and graduated in 2002. He continued his education, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Missouri in 2006. Upon graduating, Jon began teaching at Lange Middle School. He taught there for several years, touching the lives of many students and fellow teachers along the way. On December 26, 2011 among family, Jayme and Jon were united in marriage in Braubach, Germany where Jayme’s grandparents were also married. In 2013, Jon started teaching and coaching football at Battle High School in Columbia. In November of 2014, He played an instrumental part in the coaching staff that led the Spartans to a Class 5 State Football Championship, the first year the school was eligible to participate. Although Jon had a passion for football, his greatest accomplishment came on December 12, 2014, when his twin boys August and Bowie were born. Jon’s family was complete and he loved them unconditionally. Aside from teaching and coaching, Jon had many passions and talents. He loved sports, the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. He was also a skilled carpenter. Jon had a zest for life that was contagious to anyone who met him. His attitude towards life in general had a profound impact on students, players, family and friends. The situation Jon had to endure and the irrefutable character he personified was truly humbling. Instead of complaining about the cards he’d been dealt, Jon chose to fight, stay positive and live life to the fullest. Jon is an inspiration to us all and he will be deeply missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Jayme Dinter, and their twin boys, August and Bowie; mother, Kathryn (Edward) Reith, of Ballwin, MO; father, David (Janice) Dinter, of Auxvasse, MO; brother, Andrew Reith, of Oak Ridge, TN; two grandmothers, Shirley McNabb, of Farmington, MO and Marian Reith, of Manchester, MO. Jon was preceded in death by four grandparents, Glenwood McNabb, William Reith, and Charles and Alvina Dinter. A Memorial Service in Mr. Dinter’s honor will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Battle High School Football Stadium in Columbia, MO. Rev. Karen Alden will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Boone Hospital Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Arrangements have been entrusted to Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 112 Market St., Glasgow, MO 65254.
