Delton “Stretch” Watt, Jr. 1949 – 2016 Delton Watt passed away at Harry S. Truman Veteran’s Hospital in Columbia, Missouri December 2, 2016. He was 67 years of age. Delton Ray Watt, Jr. also known as “Stretch” by his friends and family was born February 23, 1949 in Caney, KS to Delton and Mae (Ward) Watt Sr. Delton graduated from Northeast High School in Arma, KS in 1967. He attended Maplewood Junior College in Kansas City. Delton was inducted into the United States Army and served his country in Vietnam. He was a Union Official for United Auto Workers #249 and had worked for Ford Motor Company for 33 years retiring in 2000. Stretch always had a smile for everyone he met and he didn’t know a stranger. He will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his three brothers, Bill (Karen) Watt of Kansas City, Tom (Phyllis) Watt of Lees Summit, MO and Allen (Linda) Watt of Wichita, KS, four step children, Aaron Edwards, Alyce Hutchinson, Dave Foster, Joseph Meave, his companion, Kim Fleis and numerous nieces and nephews. There will a visitation 3 to 5 PM, Sunday, December 4th at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, MO and a visitation, Monday evening, December 5, 2016 from 6 to 7 PM at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma, KS. A memorial service and burial with military honors will take place 1:30 PM Tuesday, December 6th, 2016 at Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, KS with Rev. Charles Cable officiating. Memorials are suggested to Faith Family Church or Arcadia Christian Church.
