Stephen Taylor 1941 – 2017 Stephen Taylor passed away at University Hospital in Columbia, MO on January 14, 2017. He was 75 years of age. Stephen Edward Taylor was born on June 21, 1941, in Auburn, NE, the son of Charles and Elba (Squires) Taylor. He graduated from Glasgow High School in 1959. After high school, Stephen joined the U.S. Army where he served his country for three years. After his service in the Army he and his family lived on a farm south of Glasgow and he farmed and worked for the Glasgow Sand company. Stephen also worked as a tutor, and worked in the education field for a number of years. In the early 1980’s he and his family moved to Florida where he lived until his retirement and then he returned to Glasgow. He enjoyed attended and helping with the Glasgow Senior Center. He later resided at Ashby Heights assisted living in Fayette. Steve was a member of the United Methodist Church. He is survived by a son, Andrew Taylor of Florida; daughter, Tracy (Bob) Garlanger of Boca Raton, FL; and a sister, Dixie Citak of Mr. Dora, FL. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Taylor’s memorial service will be held 11 AM, Friday, March 3, 2017 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, with Rev. Jamie Page officiating. Visitation will be held an hour before the service. Burial is in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Glasgow Senior Center.
