Glasgow resident, Leorah Morris, passed away at Glasgow Gardens on January 24, 2016. She was 94 years of age. Leorah Augusta Morris was born in St. Joseph, MO on December 26, 1922, the daughter of Louis and Edith (Blakeley) Nation. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1942. Leorah received a degree from Chillicothe Business College. She married Harold Morris in Kansas City, MO on June 5, 1951. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1981. Leorah primarily worked as a secretary for Sears for a number of years. She was also an accomplished seamstress and was always sewing for different people in her spare time. Leorah loved gardening, baking, sewing and crocheting. She was a loving mother and grandmother that will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Morris and Suzanne Nodder, both of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Kim Nodder of Los Angeles, CA, Jeannie Nodder of Olathe, KS and Joseph Morris of Glasgow; sister, Lola (Hollis) Smith of Independence, MO; and brother-in-law, Dewey Holst of Fayette. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Leorah was preceded in death by a grandson, Billy Nodder; a sister, Lillie Holst; and a brother, George Nation. A celebration of life service for Mrs. Morris will be held at 11 AM, Friday, January 27, 2017 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow with Fr. Alex Gabriel officiating. Visitation will be held an hour before the service. Burial will follow the service at Richland Cemetery, located south of Glasgow. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Mary’s School, in care of the funeral home.
