Marcella Strodtman passed away at her home near Armstrong, April 25, 2014. She was 83 years of age. Marcella Eulalia Strodtman or “Snooky” as she was often called, was born June 25, 1930 to George and Elizabeth (Bange) Schaefer. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1949. She married Kenneth Edwin Strodtman December 1, 1951 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sedalia, MO and he preceded her in death March 17, 1999. The couple made their home on a farm between Forest Green and Roanoke. Marcella was a member of St. Mary Church and the Daughters of Isabelle. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and tending her flowers and birds and she truly treasured being with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include children, Kenneth L. (Karen) Strodtman of Carthage, MO, Sam (Audrey) Strodtman of Armstrong, Bruce (Debbie) Strodtman of Salisbury, Donna (Neal) Nivert of Athens, TX, Elaine (Kip) Hagan of Fayette, David (Melanie) Strodtman of Lebanon, Ohio and Curt (Tricia) Strodtman of Salisbury, 15 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Heidi Strodtman and three sisters, Elaine Butler, Mary Jane Watts and Leola Bacon and one brother, Charles Schaefer. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM, Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at St. Mary Church in Glasgow with Father Richard Frank officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7:30 PM, Monday, April 28 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow with a D of I Rosary at 4 PM and also another Rosary at 7:30 PM. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Salisbury with Kenneth R., Kent, Kirk, Jared and Caleb Strodtman and Ian Hagan serving as pallbearers, (grandsons). Honorary pallbearers, (granddaughters), were Jenny Holly, Chris Newbill, Carrie Strodtman, Amanda Thomas, Katie Hammond, Kayla Hagan, Lauren, Hannah and Erin Strodtman. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary School or St. Joseph Cemetery in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home.
