Dorothy Jean Fuemmeler 1935 – 2019 Glasgow resident, Jean Fuemmeler, 83, passed away July 16, 2019 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. Dorothy Jean Fuemmeler was born September 25, 1935 in Council Bluffs, IA, a daughter to the late Don and Evelyn (Turner) Kaneer. She attended school in Glasgow, MO. On January 26, 1954, she married Charles Fuemmeler. Together, they enjoyed nearly 32 years of marriage. Charles preceded her in death November 25, 1985. Jean worked at American Recreation sleeping bag factory in Glasgow for a number of years. When she was able, Jean was an avid reader and enjoyed reading numerous books. Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Neville, of Salisbury, MO and Nancy Atkinson of Boonville, MO; two sons, Chuck Fuemmeler of Huntsville, MO and Mark Fuemmeler of Columbia, MO; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ethel Baumann, Peggy Niemeier and Sandra Engel. In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son Rodney “Butch” Fuemmeler; three sisters, Virginia Roan, Earlene Kane and Ruth Southern; and one brother, Donald Kaneer, Jr. A graveside service honoring the life of Mrs. Fuemmeler was held at 9 AM, Friday, July 19, 2019 at Washington Cemetery in Glasgow, with Bro. Ryan Edwards officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church of Glasgow. Final arrangements are under the direction of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service of Glasgow.
