Butch Kirby, 61, formerly of Fayette, MO, passed away at Glasgow Gardens in Glasgow, MO on October 24, 2019. Christopher Lynn “Butch” Kirby was born in Fayette, MO on January 3, 1958, the youngest son of 14 children born to Glen and Grace (Chandler) Kirby, Sr. Butch attended Hail Ridge School. He loved listening to music, particularly Elvis, Merle Haggard and old country tunes. He enjoyed watching episodes of Gunsmoke and Dukes of Hazzard. Butch also loved to eat a good meal, especially a Big Mac from McDonalds. Butch had a true zest for life. He had a contagious smile and could brighten anyone’s day. Butch was always happiest when he was with his family. Survivors include four brothers, Bob (Janet) Kirby, of Colorado Springs, CO, Raymond (Billie Jean) Kirby, of Fayette, MO, R.G. (Marilyn) Kirby, of Fayette, MO, Dale (Carol) Kirby, of Higbee, MO; two sisters, Connie Hill, of Higbee, MO and Ruth (Richard) Conrow, of Fayette, MO; two cousins, Jerry (Mary Kay) Chandler and Don (Jeanne) Chandler; special niece, Crystal (Brian) Terrell, of Fayette, MO. He’s also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by six brothers, Bill, Sam, Roger, Buddy Pete, Jimmy and Tom Kirby, and a sister, Bonnie Baker. A Funeral Service honoring Butch’s life will be 12 PM, Noon, October 29, 2019 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home of Fayette, with Rev. John Bill Spilman officiating. Visitation will be two hours before the service starting at 10 AM. Interment will follow the funeral at Fayette City Cemetery with Brian Terrell, Joe Terrell, Jamie Conrow, Kyle Conrow, Ryan Kirby, Allen Kirby, Rusty Baker, Randy Baker and Robbie Hill serving as pallbearers. Shelly Kirby, Shannon Kirby and Josh Craig will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hometown Homecare Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
