Glasgow resident, Harold Lee Adams, 82, passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his loving family, November 30, 2019. Harold Lee Adams was born in Lewis Mill, Chariton County, MO on April 13, 1937, a son to the late Roy Harold and Elizabeth (Niekamp) Adams. Harold graduated from Glasgow High School, the class of 1955. He married the love of his life, Marylin Engel, at Salem Lutheran Church in Forest Green, MO on June 1, 1957. Together, they’ve enjoyed over 62 years of marriage. Harold was an extremely hard worker. At age eight, Harold started working on the family farm. His sisters said they could hear him singing over the sound of the tractors while in the fields. For numerous years, he raised tobacco and trimmed trees. He passed his knowledge and experience in climbing and trimming trees on to his grandsons. Harold primarily worked as a supervisor for KCPL, retiring in 1994. Harold enjoyed traveling and camping, visiting 49 of the 50 states, including Canada and Mexico. He loved boating, water skiing, and all sports. He truly loved spending time with his two daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending all their sporting events. Harold was extremely proud of them all and would not hesitate to share this with others. He had a grand sense of humor that kept his family on their toes and laughing. Harold was a devout member of Salem Lutheran Church. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
