Glasgow resident, Dorothy Hubbard, 87, passed away at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO on December 17, 2019. Dorothy Jean Hubbard was born in Aholt, Chariton Co., MO on November 10, 1932, a daughter to the late Virgil and Meta (Kallmeyer) Monnig. Dorothy attended and graduated from Glasgow High School in 1951. On June 14, 1952, she married the love of her life, Edward Hubbard, in Kansas City, MO. Together they enjoyed nearly 51 years of marriage. Ed preceded her in death May 4, 2003. Dorothy primarily worked as a custodian, alongside her husband, for St. Mary School in Glasgow for numerous years. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary Church. She enjoyed doing embroidery, jigsaw puzzles, wordsearch puzzles and traveling when she was able. Dorothy truly loved her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Survivors include four sons, Billy Hubbard, of Glasgow, MO, Eddie Hubbard, of Salisbury, MO, Kevin Hubbard, of Huntsville, MO, and George Hubbard, of Boonville, MO; six daughters, Carol Kirby, of Glasgow, MO, Mary Ann Rexroat, of Keytesville, MO, Theresa Palmer, of Clifton Hill, MO, Martha Lipes, of Nixa, MO, Melissa Dowell, of Keytesville, MO and Kristina Weber, of Marshfield, MO; 37 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Yager, of Brookfield, MO and Marsha Cravens, of Omaha, NE. In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, Keith Hubbard, grandson, Michael Aaron Hubbard, and two sisters, Joyce Monnig and Janie Moberly. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, Saturday, December 21, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Glasgow, with Fr. Paul Hartley officiating. Visitation will be an hour before the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Washington Cemetery in Glasgow. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
