Matthew Kyle Kirby entered the world at Keller Hospital in Fayette on July 14, 1973, the son of Dale and Carol Kirby. A lifelong resident of Howard County, he graduated from Higbee High School. He was baptized during his teen years and currently attended Cowboy Bible Church in Higbee. He and Michelle Coleman of Rocheport were united in marriage on April 27, 1996. They became the proud parents of three sons. Accomplished as a cooper, winemaker, and distiller, Matthew was the owner of Cooper’s Oak Winery/SkullSplitter Spirits Distillery and took great pride in his craft. Left to cherish his memory are his wife and sons: Michelle, Noah, Seth, and Micah; parents, Dale and Carol Kirby; brother, Ryan (Quincy Hawkins). Also, his grandmother, Betty Andrews; mother-in-law, Linda Coleman; grandmother-in-law, Betty Heisler; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brian and Jill Coleman; niece, Brooke Coleman, nephew, Austin Coleman; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Matthew was pre-deceased by his grandfather, D. L. Andrews, and his father-in-law, Harold Coleman. A private family Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020, followed by a reception for family and friends at Cooper’s Oak Winery in Higbee from 1 – 4 PM. Anyone attending is asked to wear red or a Chiefs shirt to honor Matthew’s love for the Kansas City Chiefs. Memorials are suggested to: Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or Kirby Boys Education Fund. Memorials may be dropped off at Cooper’s Oak Winery or mailed to: Kirby Family P. O.
