Howard County rual resident, Kathleen Cessac, passed away at Advent Hospital in Shawnee Mission, Kansas October 7, 2020. She was 79 years of age and battled 7 long years with dementia. For the past 3 years she resided in a nursing home in Overland Park, Kansas. Kathleen Mary Cessac was born January 4, 1941 in Patterson, New Jersey, the daughter of John Stanley and Ann ( ) Reinholdt. She received her degree in Nursing from St. Joseph Infirmary Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She worked as a nurse at the Howard County Public Health Department, Fayette Schools as School Nurse, Home Health in Fayette, and at University of Missouri Hospital in the NICU taking care of babies. She retired 2010. She married Robert Cessac April 20, 1963 in Cocoa Beach Florida, where they started their family and had 4 children. The family moved to Missouri in 1974 to start a cattle farm. She enjoyed the spring when calves were born. When not working, she enjoyed antique shopping and collecting and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Fayette, Missouri. Survivors include her husband, Robert of the home; two daughters, Karen (Richard) of Shawnee, KS and Susan Cessac of Columbia, MO; two sons, Robert (Karen) Cessac, Jr. of Defiance, MO and Michael Cessac of Higbee, MO; five grandchildren, Lauren and Mark Heim, Mikala, Jared and Dena Cessac, and one great grandchild, Christian Cessac. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Tharpe, and a brother, John Reinholdt. There will be a funeral mass honoring her life, 10 AM, November 7, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayette with Father Bill Peckman officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette. There will also be a visitation one hour prior to the service from 9 AM to 10 AM. Masks and social distancing are required. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Walnut Ridge Cemetery in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service.
