William August Weber was born September 24, 1961 in Fayette, Mo., a son to Martine and Rose Ann (Heisler) Weber. Bill graduated from Glasgow High School in 1980. He furthered his education at Bailey Technical School in Kansas City and graduated on April 17, 1981. Bill bought a filling station in Glasgow and turned the business into Weber Automotive in 1984. In the early 90’s Bill received more education in autobody repair. Weber Automotive soon became J&B Fleet Service, and they started working with UPS to perform body work on their freight vehicles. Bill owned and operated his shop for over 35 years. On August 3, 2002, Bill married Carolyn Benner at their home in rural Armstrong. Carolyn preceded Bill in death earlier this year, on April 5, 2020. Bill was a hard worker who enjoyed all things automotive. He liked remodeling, socializing with friends and family, and helping people that needed an extra hand. He enjoyed going on float trips and camping. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He will be deeply missed by family, friends and the Howard County community. Survivors include his two daughters, Tara (Scott) Wissinger, of Columbia, Mo. and Sonya (Jeff) Oswald, of Fayette, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; his mother, Rose Ann Weber, of Glasgow, Mo.; four step-sons, Reggie (Victoria) Grotewiel, of Denver, Co., Chad Grotewiel, of Huntsville, Mo., Shane Grotewiel & Julie Hicklin, of Columbia, Mo., Derek (Shasta) Grotewiel, of Raleigh, Nc.; a step-daughter, Priya Grotewiel, of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters, Theresa (George) Nation, of Glasgow, Mo.; Marilyn (Jim) Aholt, of Glasgow, Mo. and Melinda (Tim) Brooks, of Louisiana, Mo.; and a brother, Melvin Weber, of Greenville, Nc. In addition to his wife, Bill was preceded in death by his father, Martine Weber and a brother, Marvin Weber. A public visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow.
