Eva Espenschied, 83, passed away on March 8, 2021 at Glasgow Gardens in Glasgow, MO. Eva Louise (Wiemholt) Estes Espenschied was born August 10, 1937 in Boonville, MO, a daughter to the late Martin Lawrence and Marie Pauline (Esser) Wiemholt. Eva graduated from S.S. Peter and Paul High School in Boonville, with the class of 1955. Eva held numerous jobs throughout her career. She started working in the office of St. Joseph Hospital in Boonville while a junior in high school, and continued working there until January 30, 1958. On February 3 1958, Eva married Billy Joe Estes in Kansas City, KS. He preceded her death on November 16, 1993. Eva worked a two-year stint with Bethany Hospital in Kansas City, KS, and in 1960 moved to Fayette, MO. She then worked as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. until the dial telephone system was fully installed and operational. On August 3, 1968, she married her second husband, Donald L. Espenschied in Armstrong, MO. Together, they’ve enjoyed over 52 years of marriage. Eva then took a job at Keller Memorial Hospital and worked there until 1973, when she began working for Boonslick Savings and Loan. On June 13, 1980, Eva and Don started “Back Porch Antiques.” She loved restoring and re-selling furniture. Survivors include her husband, Don Espenschied of Glasgow, MO; daughter, Cindy (Mitch) Peters of Fayette, MO; son, Larry Estes of Osage Beach, MO; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Connie Husband of Belle Fourche, SD, Dianne Marshall of Bloomington, IL and Gayle (Kenny) Coolley of Centralia, MO; and one brother, Jerry (Susan) Wiemholt of Berthoud, CO. She is also survived by her step-children, Rick (Ruthie) Espenschied of Fayette, MO, Garry (Julia) Espenschied of Fayette, MO and Tracy Shields of Glasgow, MO. In addition to her parents and first husband, Eva was preceded in death by her twin sons, Brian Ray and Brent Jay Estes. A public visitation for Mrs. Espenschied will be held 4-6 PM, Friday, March 19, 2021 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette. Facemasks are required and social distancing guidelines will be observed. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette with Rev.
