Donald L. Pierce, 83, of Holden, MO, passed away Wednesday evening, April 14, 2021 at John Knox Village Hospice Care Center in Lee’s Summit, MO, after battling cancer for 3 years. Mr. Pierce was born December 28, 1937 in Villisca, IA, a son to Eldon and Opal (Damewood) Pierce. He had worked for the Armstrong Grain Coop for 14 years. After relocating to Holden, he worked for Dana Miller Construction, Lee’s Summit, Greg Bordner Const., Greg Bordner Foundation Co. and Greg Bordner Trucking, Lee’s Summit. He also worked for Lloyd’s-IGA and Yoss Bros. Grocery in Holden where he resided. He was married to Joan Wyatt in Higbee, MO on August 28, 1958 and was a member of Wesley Chapel, Kingsville, MO. He is survived by his two daughters, Debbra and husband Mitch Chrisenberry of Leeton, MO and Diana and husband Tony Woods of Huntsville, MO; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way; two sisters, Wilma and husband Eugene Woods of Sturgeon, MO and Carol Buschkoetter of Huntsville, MO; and one brother, Bruce and wife Karen Pierce of Moberly, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Pierce of Holden, MO; his parents, Eldon and Opal (Damewood) Pierce of Moberly, MO; an infant brother, Dean; his sister, Alice Smiley of Daytona Beach, FL; and his brother, Wayne Pierce of Macon, MO. A memorial service will be held 4 PM, Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, MO with Pastor Robert Korff officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service starting at 3 PM. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery, Glasgow, MO.
