David Moore 1954 – 2021 Fayette resident, David Moore, 67, passed away at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia on September 16, 2021. David Neal Moore was born September 3, 1954 in Trenton, MO, a son to Lowell Dean and Thelma Jean (Trump) Moore. David graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia with the class of 1973. Upon graduating, David enrolled at State Fair Community College and earned an associate’s degree in electrical engineering. David also attended extra training courses to further his education and knowledge in electrical work. On August 15, 1981, David married Sheri Lynn Vansell. They enjoyed over 27 years of marriage together. Sheri preceded him in death on December 29, 2008. Throughout his career, David always maintained a strong work ethic and always stayed busy. He started his career working for Mid MO Telephone Co. in Pilot Grove, MO, and worked there for 18 years. For 26 years, David worked for the University of Missouri as an electrical engineer. He retired on December 31, 2020. For 35 plus years, David owned and operated his own business, Moore Electric, where he served the community after hours and on weekends. David enjoyed fishing, walking and going skiing in Colorado. He especially cherished his time he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren. Dave was a man of faith with a heart of gold, that strived to help anyone at anytime. He has made such a big impact on many of the people that we’re lucky enough to know him. He had the most infectious laugh and a whistle that was known by seven kids that it was either time to leave, or time to come home. Survivors include his significant other, Beverly Brown of Fayette; seven children, Rachel (Jeff) Heins of Kieler, WI, Molly (Brad) Gallop of Madison, MO, Emily Moore of Columbia, MO, Allison Moore of Boonville, MO, Samuel Moore of Columbia, MO, D.J. Moore and Brandon Moore, both of Fayette, MO; and Beverly’s daughter Amy Larkin of Fayette,MO who was like one of his own. three grandchildren, Gabriel and Tatum Heins, and Emersyn Gallop; one grandchild on the way; his parents, Lowell and Thelma Moore of Sedalia, MO; brother, Charlie (Shelly) Moore of Mineola, TX; and sister, Ramona Moore of Slater, MO. Three additional grandchild he claimed like his own Shelby, Kaylee, and Gage Larkin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. A memorial service honoring the life of Mr. Moore will be 10 AM, Friday, September 24, 2021 at Faith Family Church in Fayette, with Revs. Gary Wrisberg and Gene McCoy officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Thursday, September 23, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette. Inurnment will be held privately at a later date at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sedalia, MO.
