Former longtime Armstrong, MO resident, Jo Huber, 88, passed away at Glasgow Gardens on March 27, 2022. Josephine Huber was born in Howard Co., MO on April 15, 1933. She was one of five children born to the late Walter and Lucille (Skaggs) Ewens. Jo attended Fayette High School. She married Marvin Huber on September 29, 1950. They enjoyed over 65 years of marriage up until Marvin’s passing on December 8, 2015. Jo worked as a waitress for Huber’s Restaurant in Armstrong for numerous years. She also worked for the National Garment Factory for several years. Jo loved sewing and working with her ceramics. Every time there was a newborn in the family, Jo would welcome them with a new handmade quilt, stitched with love. She especially enjoyed and cherished the time she was able to spend with her family at Thomas Hill Lake. Survivors include two children, Linda (Cody) Evers and David (Anna Underwood) Huber, both of Armstrong; four grandchildren, Brandy (Joey) Casey of Boonville, Derek (Andrea Freese) Evers of Jefferson City, Chris (Amanda) Huber of Higbee and Jesse (Angel) Huber of Higbee; and five great-grandchildren, Gage, Kadence, Brantley, Eli and Jane. In addition to her husband and parents, Jo was preceded in death by her grandson, Chad Sulltrop, and her four siblings, Ernest Ewens, Bessie Brundage, Irene Campbell and Walter Ewens, Jr. Funeral service for Mrs. Huber will be 2 PM, Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, with Rev. Harold Young officiating. Visitation will be and hour before the service starting at 1 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Armstrong. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home, 174 Hwy. 5 & 240 N., Fayette, MO 65248.
