Dale Strodtman 1933 – 2014 Longtime Gilliam resident, Dale Strodtman, passed away at Golden Living Center in Glasgow on December 23, 2014. He was 81 years of age. Dale Dean Strodtman was born in Saline County, MO on April 14, 1933 to Edwin Henry and Katie Lee (Glenn) Strodtman. Dale was a 1951 graduate of Glasgow High School. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves attaining the rank of sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1961. He married Dorothy Joan Borders in April of 1958 and she preceded him in death October 2, 2001. Dale farmed most of his life in Saline County. He was a member of the Glasgow United Methodist Church and also attended the Salem Lutheran Church with Daple when he was able. Dale is survived by two sons, Edwin (Linda) Strodtman of Springfield, MO and Jonathan (Tiffany) Strodtman of Columbia, MO; three sisters, Vera Fuemmeler of Armstrong, MO, Dorothy (John) Kincaid of Glasgow, MO and Gloria (Raymond) Creason of Dixon, MO; one brother, Morris (Jeannie) Strodtman of Gilliam; two grandchildren, Abby and Klayten; he is also survived by his longtime companion, Daple Walden of Glasgow, MO. Besides his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his wife Joan, four brothers and one sister. Services for Mr. Strodtman are going to be 11am, Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Chapel in Glasgow with Rev. Brenda West officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM, Friday evening, December 26 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow the service in Washington Cemetery.
