Norbert Gessling 1943 – 2015 Norbert “Bubby” Gessling passed away January 17, 2015 at his home in Forest Green. He was 71 years of age. Norbert Dal Gessling also nicknamed, “Spike or Bubby”, was born May 2, 1943 in Forest Green to Norman Fred and Isabelle Fay (Linneman) Gessling. He attended Forest Green Elementary School and graduated from Salisbury High School. Mr. Gessling served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a cable splicer for GTE, Verizon and Century Tel telephone companies for 38 years retiring in 2005. Bubby loved the outdoors especially being around the Missouri and Chariton Rivers. He will truly be missed by his family and all who knew him. Survivors include one son, Tommy Gessling of Salisbury, two daughters, Kelly (Damon) Kitchen and Tammie (Gary) Burchell all of Huntsville, MO, seven grandchildren, Sidney, Ethan, Allison, Spencer, Mason, Haley and Olivia, three sisters, Inanell Gardner of Mendon, Diann Wilson of Excello and Linda (Raymond) Morrison of Salisbury and many nieces, nephews and friends.. There will be a visitation 5 to 7 PM, Monday, January 19 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Chapel in Glasgow with a celebration of life toast at the Fishbeak Saloon following the visitation. There will be a graveside service with military honors at 11 AM, Tuesday, January 20th at Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO with Chaplain Richard Ingmire officiating.
