Barbara Nation 1940 – 2015 Barbara Nation passed away at Golden Living Center in Glasgow on April 7, 2015. She was 75 years of age. Barbara Crystal Nation was born on March 7, 1940 in Grundy County, MO to Randy and Bonnie (Way) Elam. She married George R. Nation at the Methodist Church in Glasgow on June 10, 1956. George preceded her in death on December 22, 2010. In her younger days, she enjoyed riding horses and square dancing. She and Sonny belonged to the Richland Saddle Club. Barbara worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for Glasgow Hardware for over 37 years. She also served as bookkeeper for the Glasgow Water District number 2 for many years. Barbara was a devout member of the Richland Christian Church serving in many capacities. She will be greatly missed by her family, church and many friends. Barbara is survived by four sons, George L. (Theresa) Nation of Glasgow, Dennis (Debbie) Nation of Fayette, Kenneth (Sharon) Nation of Glasgow, and Gary (Debra) Nation of Fayette; two sisters, Judy Elam of Columbia and Debbie Shiflett of Forest Green; 14 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Beside her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by one great grandson, Dakota Nation. Services for Mrs. Nation will be held at 11am, Monday, April 13, 2015 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow with Revs. Thomas Myers and Louis Odneal officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home the evening before the service from 4-6pm, Sunday, April 12. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery, south of Glasgow. Memorial contributions are suggested to Richland Christian Church or Cemetery, in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home.
